Inaugural lecture by Prof. Rottmann and Prof. Mossakowski

On 20.01.2026, the Institute of Computer Science celebrated “50 years of computer science at Osnabrück University”. Prior to this, Prof. Rottmann and Prof. Mossakowski presented their research areas in their inaugural lectures.

Prof. Mossakowski, who took up the Chair of Knowledge Representation in Hybrid AI Systems at Osnabrück University last year, spoke on the topic of “When machines learn meaning: neurosymbolic integration and the future of artificial intelligence”. Prof. Rottmann then presented the Chair of Computer Vision and Robust AI under the title “Robust and efficient environment perception in automated driving”. Finally, Prof. Vornberger presented “50 years of computer science at Osnabrück University”.
